- Israeli dentists are progressive when it comes to adopting new technologies and methods and Israel has all prerequisites to become a strong market for Tigran's dental bone regeneration material, says Björn Sellert, CEO of Tigran Technologies AB.
Tigran develops and markets unique, patented titanium granules for regeneration of new jawbone and fixation of implants in the dental health area. Various tools and treatment kits are also under development for use at for example peri-implantitis, a dental disease which has increased heavily during the last couple of years.
After several years of research and development, Tigran's dental bone regeneration material made of porous titanium granules was launched at the end of 2008. The material is based on 100 % pure titanium, which has been used for dental implants for over 40 years. In contrast to other bone regeneration materials, the titanium granules are non-resorbable, i.e. they do not shrink, which provides the dentist with predictable treatment results. The titanium granules have a porosity of about 80 %, which makes them an optimal climbing frame for the body's bone cells located in the blood. In addition, the material is completely clean and hence there is no risk for disease transmission, as opposed to other competing materials based on bone from humans or calf bone.
- We offer dentists around the world a new, effective and cost-saving way of regenerating jawbone, which is necessary when a patient is afflicted by peri-implantitis (inflammation around an implant), at certain forms of periodontitis (loosening of teeth) and other bone regeneration indications, finishes Björn Sellert.
